Nova Gorica is a small town near Italy. There are lots of shops, restaurants, bars and other buildings meant for entertaiment. Nova Gorica is also a city of culture. It’s got a big library, a theatre, lots of statues and different monuments. Bevk square is the centre of the city. The symbol of Nova Gorica is a red rose.

There’s a lot of fun stuff to do in Nova Gorica all the time. In summer you can go swimming in the outside pool or in the river Soča in Solkan, a village near the town. Of course, the river is very cold. In winter you can go ice-skating on Bevk square. There are also many festivals during the year.

I like Nova Gorica, because there are a lot of places to go. So you’re never bored when you go out with your friends. But most of all I like the ice-cream in Nova Gorica. It’s delicious!

I get on the bus at 7.30. The bus stops twice for five minutes. The journey lasts for 15 minutes. What time do I arrive to school?

Julija wakes up at 6.30 am. At 7.15 am she takes the bus to school. Lessons finish at 2.30 pm. She takes the bus at 2.35 pm and arrives home at 3.00 pm. How long does she stay away from home?

When I finish secondary school, I’ll go to high school and then to college. When I finish school, I hope I’ll start work at the age of 24 or 25, but I don’t know what I want to be, yet. I think I’ll live in a small town, because living in a city is just so noisy and full of traffic. I’ll live in a house and I’ll have a car. So, I hope I’ll learn to drive at the age of 17. I want to get married at the age of 25 and have my first child at the age of 26, because I want to be a young mother to my children. My ideal partner will be an intelligent and friendly man, maybe even good-looking. In the future I most want to be happy and healthy. I don’t want to be famous, because it’s too stressful and you haven’t got any privacy.

I think that in the future all people will have their own car. We’ll need more roads because we’ll have more traffic jams. People won’t use buses anymore. They’ll travel by train, plane or car.

I think that in the future people won’t go shopping to markets or supermarkets anymore. We won’t need them, because we’ll just make a phone call to a market, supermarket or restaurant and they will deliver everything to our homes. But delivery costs, so we’ll have to spend more money.Maša, 9.r

A TALE FROM SHADOWHAVEN

Once upon a time, a beautiful land named Shadowhaven was born. A land that was full of villages. There was a village, named Albion. Everyone was scared of that name, because Albion was the name of a demon, which was magically sealed under a village. A wizard named Jake lived in that village. He had a scroll that read about how the seal of the demon could be broken, which would destroy the land. The demon was protecting the village, until they started to argue, but if they had started, the seal would break. The demon would destroy Shadowhaven. Wizard Jake had a girlfriend and they had a son called Luke. When Luke was 7 years old, his dad Jake thought, he might become a good warrior.

He trained him so hard that he was able to protect all land from ogres and trolls. One day he rescued a man from an ogre. Then he gave him a dog. The dog wasn’t trained very well. The man told him that the dog was a Belgian shepherd. Jake named him Pokie. He lived happily until…

Miha Mirt, 7.b

It was a cold winter morning. The girls woke up at 9:30 a.m. Gracie called her best friends Theresa, Lucy and Michelle. They decided to try to win in a lottery and get a journey to Australia. They met there at 12:00. They got their lottery ticket number 256. After ten minutes the employee started calling numbers: 115, 203, 237…And, finally, they called their number. They were so excited.

After three days of waiting, their day came. The girls arrived at the airport at 8.00 a.m. Their plane left at 8.30 a.m. During the flight the plane started shaking. The engine stop and the plane started falling down. The girls got scared and everybody got into panic. The plane crashed on an island. Gracie, Lucy, Michelle and Theresa were the only survivors. The island was small, dark, creepy and deserted. They survived the first night there, but in the morning they were very hungry. They split up to find some food. Lucy stayed on the beach. Suddenly she saw a creature in the sea. She went closer to see what it was. It was a mermaid! She was very shy. She hid behind a big rock. Lucy said: ”Don’t be scared. I won’t hurt you.” The mermaid still didn’t come. “I love mermaids.” The mermaid looked. Lucy said: “Come.” The mermaid came closer. They started talking, when Theresa, Gracie and Michelle came. They saw the mermaid, too. They all started talking. The mermaid told them that they were in war with another proud, which wanted to take their land. She asked them for help. The girls agreed, if the mermaid would return them home. Then she did some magic and the next moment they were all mermaids. They were very happy. The mermaid introduced them to her shoal. They were talking about their tails, when, suddenly, Theresa saw a merman. He was very handsome. He was swimming next to the leader of the opponent shoal. They were swimming towards them. The leader of Theresa’s shoal started talking to the other leader. Theresa’s eyes sparkled, when she saw the member of the other shoal. He came closer and started talking to Theresa. He said:”Hi. My name’s Kevin. And you are?” Theresa said:”I’m Theresa.” He said:”What a beautiful name.” They talked for a very long time. Michelle, Lucy and Gracie knew that Theresa fell in love with Kevin. The next morning Lucy, Gracie and Michelle woke up and saw that Theresa wasn’t there. They panicked, because they didn’t know what was going on. Theresa was on a date with Kevin and in half an hour she was back. She told Micelle, Gracie and Lucy everything about her date. Kevin told his best friend (the leader) about their date, too. The leader was surprised and he didn’t want to make war anymore because of them. He told that to the other leader and in an hour the war was cancelled. Theresa and Kevin were very happy! He gave her a warm hug and a kiss. Suddenly, there was darkness in front of her eyes. She woke up!! It was 10:30 am! The bell was ringing. Theresa opened the door and a very handsome boy was standing there. He said:”Hi! I’m Kevin. The postman brought this letter to a wrong address, and I bring it to you.” Theresa said:”Thank you!” (Theresa’s head:”I know this guy!”) Kevin said:”Are you free tomorrow?” “Of course!” said Theresa. He said:”We can go on a fro-yo.” And then he left. Theresa was very happy, because she was going on a date with the guy of her dreams. She was very excited and she called her besties. They talked about it and then Theresa told them about her dreams and a letter that she got. When they opened it, it said:

Ingredients:

• flour
• 2 eggs
• milk
• sugar
• salt
• oil

Instructions: Put some flour and two eggs into a bowl. Add some milk and a little salt and some sugar.Mix the ingredients and stir them.
Pour some oil in a frying pan and heat it.
Pour a little mixture into the frying pan.
Fry the pancake on both sides.
Serve the pancakes with chocolate spread, butter and jam or honey.

First of all, I think you should eat more fruit and vegetables. You shouldn’t eat so much junk food because it makesyou fat.You should do some sport, too. You can run or just walk faster every day and take some exercise. You can work out at home, you can go to the gym and in summer you can go out with friends.

Don’t watch too much TV, and don’t spend so much time on the computer. Go out more.

Don’t go on diets because we are young and we need food to grow up. Just be careful how much calories you eat a day.So all that matters is that you should eat healthy and do some sports.If you are a professional sportsperson don’t feel bad if you eat more than the others, because people who do sports need more energy and they also burn fat at trainings. If you want a perfect body, you should run to burn fat and do exercise for abs, squats, some exercise for legs and stronger hands.

This is my advice for a healthy life.
